This also has the side benefit of accelerating obsolescence, old hardware and old software may not work on Vista, sooo that benefits the economy so much if you're forced to buy brand new swell hardware and software, especially when these new technologies support beneficial things like automatically shutting down if it doesn't like your dvd disk with DRM programming. Vista dropped a lot of old technologies, I think they said it was too much effort to spend all their time on backwards compatibility. XP is incredible, if you plug in some old unidentified piece of hardware, it's likely that xp will have a driver for it (that's the beneficial side of software bloat). I don't think that MS is really big on backwards compatibility any more. So this kind of package, or others like it, are not for running dx10 in xp, it's just so you can play the game itself with xp even if it displays as dx9. Why? Many new games have come out that are compatible w/ Vista only. Thanks for posting, this is very interesting news.
